Default Cable extension for 10" handlebar?

I'm thinking to change the handlebar of my 2014 Forty Eight from the stock handlebar to a 10" one. But I don't know is I should buy the extended cable and wire kit or if the original stock will work still on a 10" handlebar. I appreciate your help.

I heard and read that 10 in, you don't need. 12 and up you do.
