2008 Model Demo Rides - July 20/21, Kansas City Area
For those of you in the Kansas City area, I just wanted to pass along some information I received from Gails HD in Grandview, MO.
They are going to have '13 models' of the new 2008 models available for demo rides on July 20 (10 AM to 3 PM) and July 21 (10AM to 3 PM).
It's "First Come, First Served", and demo riders need to have a DOT helmet, long pants, over the ankle boots, and a current motorcycle endorsement on your license.
Would be a good chance to see the new models in person and take them out for a 'test ride'..

Hey OFG,
What's the riding season like in that area? Its looking like I am going to spend my last tour/retire in the KCMO area. Am I going to be able to ride year round?

Winter time isn't bad, and I don't 'winterize' my bikes, so you could say that I ride "year around". During the winter we do get cold spells and heavy snow from time to time, but a week later it could be sunny and in the high 40's, low 50's.
So I would say that if you are comfortable riding in 40 degree temperaturesyou would be able to ride year around in this area.

I live about 60 miles straight west of the KCMO/KCK area. This past year, I was parked from about Dec 15th to Feb 15th. There were quite a few days in there that it was maybe 25 or so in the morning, but 40+ in the afternoon, but some tard had put 20-50 in his bike, and it wouldn't turn over in the morning.

Not like back in the 'old days' when you had to pull your seat on and off to connect them, since you can get the harness for them at a cost of less than $10. Takes all of 2 seconds to plug in, or unplug the tender.

Thanks for the info.
I've got a tender pigtail for all mine so no issues there. I've never winterized either. I'm an all weather/all-year rider. Although as I get older I'm a little less interested in riding in snow.
Cooler temps aren't too bad either. People told me how great Monterey weather was. Turns out it can be 40-50 in the AM and peaks at maybe 75 unless I head inland.
