The 570s are 100% bolt in on 04+ 1200s. Pull the cam cover and replace lining up the timing marks. Pulling the cam cover means relieving the tension on the cams first tho by pulling rocker boxes when each is on TDC compression first tho. Same with reinstalling them. Follow the manual's procedure. It's simple. Even a novice can do it in a short afternoon. All you need is a set of rocker box and cover gaskets and a cam cover gasket.
I highly recommend replacing the oil pump drive gear with a bronze one while you're in there. Harley should've done it. They did it with everything but the Sporty.
Hammer sells them too as well as a tool to lock it in place while breaking the nut loose and torqueing it back down. You don't want that torque transferring to the flywheel. Really simple.

$450ish total. Cams, drive gear, and tool, cam cover gasket. Best bang for your buck you'll ever do.

Not that you need it. You had it under control.

I should add I'm an 05. Meaning carbed. EFI is good for 2-5 ponies more.

I feel the same about the 570s tho. Below 5500 rpm we're talking a good 10ft.lbs of torque. Especially in the middle. Enough for a seat of the pants difference.
I couldn't give up 90ft.lbs torque at 4500rpm. But that extra punch up top has to be nice too.
He's also flat top 10:1 tho. Not sure what 10.5:1 would do for them.
What are you running them at apache?

Keep in mind on a stock 1200 the numbers may be slightly lower but probably not enough to notice. I'm a 1250 flat top @ 10:1 because of the .030 squish. Stock 1200 is 9.7:1 but the 570s were designed for that. Even at 10:1 you need be sure you have a good tune. Any higher compression ratio than 10:1 isn't recommended for the 570s.

I doubt you would be disappointed. Easy on the valve train too.
Im running 10.5 to one. That's where they work good.

However my Mrs's and I weight about 420 combined and my Sporty doesn't break a sweat. She's rarely on board though.
Same here , I’m not looking for 10,000,000 HP but I do ride quite a bit with the commander and chief in tow, I did swap out the front pully 1 tooth smaller and that did help the transition from a low stumbling 5th to pulling nice from 50 mph onwards.

But like I said I heard about hammers cams And pistons making a great difference in power delivery without pissing with head and valve mods , not that I want to crack open a 6,000 mile motor..

I've been kicking the idea of doing the cam swap myself with the 570s. A little nervous about doing it myself but I do have the tools to do it. just need the locking tool. right now I'm running a DK air cleaner and a Cobra 2 into 1 exhaust. I also have a Powervision tuner. Maybe I should just go for broke, order them and do it myself. What could go wrong?!?

The locking tool is for doing the bronze oil pump drive gear and Hammer sells both. You can do cams and not do that drive gear. It just makes sense to change it while you're in there. The stock one wears easier the more power you're running. Just doing cams isn't that detrimental to it.
As for doing it yourself, if you can read and turn a wrench, you won't have a problem. It's that simple.
Hell, if you lived near me I'd do it for ya just for the mental therapy I get working on them.
