Default this is gettin iritating

every time some one listens to my bike they always ask why i left the baffles in my SE slipons.I like loud but i also like to be able to ride without worrying about a police officer pulling my over because of my pipes. That and the idea of haveing to ride with my flip face helmet on and no baffles doesn't appeal to me its loud enough with them in.Any body else get tired of hearing "why isn't your bike louder"

I bought a set of hardly used CS slip-ons and they supposedly have baffles in them, haven't really bothered as they are pretty loud.My bud bought a set of the cheap $110 slip-ons off eBay and those are fairly nice and louder than my pipes with his baffles out but in they are notHe also has a 1200C so he should be louder, anyway he adjusted the baffles and it's not as loud. I guess my point is that those cheaper slip-ons aren't to bad! He likes them. I myself will be trading mine off when I get my Streetsweepers. Never heard them in person yet but I have heard troublemakers on a Wideglide and they weren't that bad

I've never had anyone mention my bike not being loud enough. Well, not since I replaced the stock mufflers with Cycle Shacks. They have a very small "baffle" in them. I have had a few comments from the neighbors about it being too loud. So I always try to keep it as quite as possible when riding in residential areas.

My wife continues to strongly urge me to leave the stock pipes one. No one complains to me about them being too quiet. I only ever hear complaints about too loud!

I was asked a few times, even at the dealership "ya gonna take the baffles out or put new pipes on when you get home?" To me the damn thing is loud enough. I'd like to be able to talk to my wife rather than have to shout over the bike.

I agree with that, I put Bassani pipes on my bagger. They aren't too loud till you open them up. at cruizing speed, you can even hear the birds. I also had a set on my sportster, not too loud, but loud enough that you knew it was a harley.

Next time ask them why you would want to loose 20-30% of your power to a baffle less muffler.

Straight pipes are fine if you run a the top end all the time or have a really supped up bike which most folks don't. You get way more mid range power with the baffles in and that is where most of operate . But if you gotta have it loud and don't care about power then by all means take them out its personal preference.
