HD's XR 1200 Gets Cool Café Racer Treatment
By Bruce Montcombroux

This cult-like status bike had a styling problem. "Had" is the keyword.

Thumbs up

Luv it, if only for the tank stripes! My first Harley was a 1974 FX1200 with them.

meh. It really didn't have a styling problem...it had a swelling gas tank problem that popped the covers! (never really resolved). They also had a suspension problem easily fixed with ohlins! I like your "cult-like status" comment. I guess I am now a cult member! lol

Very cool. I might have gone for a color other than black, to give some of the elements more definition? But overall, I really like this bike. I guess the speedometer placement is because European regulations prohibit removing it?

Living in Europe I'm not aware of any such regulations!

I thought the XR styling was just fine. Not a fan of this.

That's a cool Sportster cafe. I'm not sold on the engine color treatment though. Maybe it looks better in person.
