Need info on Sportster jetting
Hey guys so my bike is an 87 883 and and I’m doing a cv carb upgrade as my butterfly carb air adjuster tip was seized and broke off in the carb so I believe my bike is running on the lean side hence the upgrade. Now I just got a new cv carb from a 90ish sportster but I think the jetting is to high as it has a 185 main jet and can’t read the pilot jet so I’m wondering what jets would best suite my bike.
So far it’s getting an aftermarket filter to fit the carb to my bike and also I believe has upgraded Harley slipons as they are slant cut and not tapered cones and say Harley Davidson
also the carb still has the plug over the air adjuster screw so I dont believe the carbs ever been mechanically taken apart or upgraded and doesn’t look like it’s had gas in it as everything is new and shiny on it lol
any help would be much appreciated so TIA

Ok , this is my set up .04 XL 1200 R with a 185 main , 45 pilot . V&H Straightshots and a K&N in a standard air box . How does it perform ? I've no idea because I've got nothing to compare it to . It gets down the road ok and I've never asked it to go over 90 mph . It makes pleasant enough noises and there's non of the dreaded Decal Pop .
