Sportsters Attack the African Desert with Reckless Abandon

Can a Sportster become a dirt bike, and possibly cross an unforgiving desert?

 

Great stuff! Love the twin headlights.

 

It's a good thing there were 3 riders in that group in case someone had a breakdown. If you have an accident out in desert how are you going to fix the bike without a big rock anywhere in sight?

(if you're too young to get that reference ask an older rider )

 

I suspect there is a huge film production and bike technical team behind the camera! Not to mention a big truck to load them back into when all is done....

 

I would say yes, Sportster has been around since 1957 and is almost as simple as a KLR650. It hasnt been around this long for nothing.

 

I'm still surprised Harley hasn't jumped on the Scrambler bandwagon with either the Sportster or Street Rod as the base bike. Plenty of people have done the modifications on the Sportster and the Street Rod isn't far off from a scrambler already.
