Yes, you do. Karma dictates that if you don't, you and your Sporty will be snubbed by baggers and all riders down the Harley line of Big.
If you crash while waving, you will go to Harley Heaven and be sainted as a Suicide Waver with all its privileges and adorations.

When I was a lad you had a moped at sixteen,a 250 at seventeen then you had to pass your test.....thats why I reckon there's a lot of posts on here about Americans falling off their Harleys when they've just bought them.

I grew up in England. I started on a SS50 at 16 and moved to a Yam 200 . Rode that with L Plates on itfor a few years as my only transportation before moving on to bigger things. I rode year round in all kinds of weather conditions commuting in the Manchester area. I now see folks over here in the states passing their test and then going out to buy a dream bike, in many cases the bike is too big and powerful for them, they scare the c**p out of themselves and suddenly their dream bike is up for sale. When my wife learned to ride she started on a 250 and worked her way up to a Sportster as a her skills and confidence grew.
As for waving, in my opinion, anyone on two wheels deserves respect regardless of the make size or type of their ride.
