I'm sure its been done. Whats the problem? Are you having trouble getting the stock pipes back on?
Edit- BTW, I had Short Shots on my Super Glide, they are loud as hell. Why not just go with a better designed slip on? I have Rush slip ons on my current bike and they are great, a nice rumble at idle and slow speeds, and an aggressive growl when getting on it. You're probably not going to like the OEM sound.

Why is it that so many new people appear out of nowhere firing off questions like, "has anyone put oem exhaust on" and never include pix of what the have or what they're working with? Then you never hear from them again. Smacks of trollism I tell ya. But what the hell, I'll answer your question - yes.

When my wife had her Sportster with Frankenstein kit on it we put one of these exhaust on it. We did have to modify it slightly to bend the pipe down slightly to clear the rear end. We also swapped the belt tension bolt around on the right hand side to accommodate the pipe as well. We only need to clear the rear end when no one was sitting on the bike since when you added weight the pipe cleared the rear end even more.

My current bike came with short pipes that shook the neighbors houses. I bought a set of stock oem pipes and mufflers from a member here.
So short answer yes sometimes people go back to stock.
Since then, I've put on a Road Rage 2>1 that's louder than oem but not as bad as when I bought it.

For those that don't have a clue....A Frankenstein Kit is a 3 wheeler conversion for a motorcycle, you can't just put the OEM exhaust back on like it came off.
From what I could tell, just by looking at different 3-wheel options, you might get away with taking the OEM exhaust a little lower and/or shortening the back exhaust pipe. If you no longer have the stock exhaust, I would try some turn downs fitted to the end of the short shots and/or add some Thunder Torque Inserts from DK Customs.
