Well give us a clue . What bike are you fitting it to ? ( A Sportster presumably ) what is it and why doesn't it have a fitting kit and instructions ? At first glance this thing looks as if it might utilise the headlight brackets which is unfortunate because most Sportsters don't have conventional headlight brackets . More information please .

I've had a look on eBay at this product and it says 1/ instructions and hardware not included 2/ Compatible with detachable windshields and 3/ well look for yourself . You need a windshield docking kit by the look of it . I've included two examples of the the product description which unfortunately you don't appear to have read.

How close are those two brackets to the width of the fork legs?

If they are prettly close you could use 4 of these clamps (pick the right size for your forks) and then you will have a quick release.
