Default Mapping after exhaust change?

I really want to change the exhaust on my 07 XL883L but i know ill have to remap afterwards. Does anyone know how hard it is or how expensive it is to have a dealer do it. I have a buddy with a tuner but he claims you can only use one tuner per bike probably BS. Also looking for suggestions on an exhaust the stock sounds like a loud farting

As long as you leave the air side alone you shouldn't have to remap. Specially if you only use slip-ons. If you change the air and the exhaust both it should be done. Some may have another opinion.

XIED's are an option too if you do exhaust and intake...not as good as a tuner but way less expensive and they do work.

Your friend is correct. If you don't believe him, why would you believe anyone here?
I have heard the dealer will charge more than the price of a tuner.
There are lots of pages on these forums that talk about tuners.
If you are gonna customize your Harley you will need a few bags of money, no getting around it.
There is a reason HD stands for hundred dollars. Almost anything you want to do starts at $100 and goes up from there.
Good luck

it should have slip ons, air side means the air intake, if you just get slip ons or even a full exhaust you shouldn't need to tune but and yes once a tuner is on your bike it is forever registered on that vin number. I was looking into slip ons and actually ended up getting a full exhaust which was actually cheaper than a lot of slip ons i saw online, i got the danmoto highwayman just installed it today and sounds pretty good.

I have Maxi Flow on my Springer and they have a little rumble to em. Go to their site and check them out. They have all kinds of mufflers, reasonable.

Cobra full exhaust and slip-ons are nice, especially for the $$.

No tune needed for just exhaust.
