Default HELP! My exhaust is too loud...lol

I took my newly received but used bike out for a spin with my buddy last night, and man, it is LOUD. Sounds amazing but….

2010 Harley Sportster Iron 883. Previous Owner took the baffles out of the stock exhaust.

I’m not allowed to have a motorcycle in my neighborhood, so to keep this a secret, I’ve got to quiet it down. Otherwise I won’t be able to ride at all!

I’ve heard on this forum that I can’t buy baffles and put them back into my exhaust since they had to have been drilled out.

Do I need to get a new full system exhaust, or do I just need to buy a new slip on muffler? How does this all work?

I'm guessing if you can't stab everyone in the neighborhood, you should move.

LOL!

Funny, but unhelpful! I just got this bike, want to ride it a ton obviously buy need it at stock levels of noise or even quieter possibly! Focused on my usage and fun of the bike, not on what others will think of me haha.

Sounds like the neighborhood is racist. Time to move. A sporty will not make the neighbors happy.

If your mufflers are stock (but minus baffles), look in the sell forums for people getting rid of their stock mufflers. You can get them pretty cheap this way. Stock will be pretty quiet.

I have one guy on this forum who is willing to send me his 2014 mufflers for price of shipping.

Will a 2014 muffler fit on my 2010? How can I know if it will or not? Also he says his have "CAT" in them, not sure if this is a catalytic converter or what.

I need them nice and quiet, so maybe this is good?

Look for a pair of 2007-2013 Stock mufflers. (the O2 sensor size, crossover, mufflers and header parts changed in 2014)
There should be plenty available from people who changed to a stage 1 exhaust.

You will also likely need a couple of new muffler clamps (one time use) and a couple of the gaskets for the crossover tube.
New Torca muffler clamps have eliminated the need for silicone
or graphite tape during assembly. Always use new clamps
during installation to maintain sealing integrity and prevent
leakage.

You can find the part numbers here:

You should be able to find a stock set of slipons on eBay Craigslist or here fairly easy. And what kind of neighbourhood don't alow motorcycles. I personally could not stand living some were where someone could tell me what I can have and. What I can't have but thats just me. do what you got to do.

Which gasket would I need of these two for what you said?

OR?

65325-83ARETAINING RING, exhaust gasket (2)
OR?

65927-00GASKET, exhaust interconnect (2)

Also, I'm assuming these would be the correct parts for the muffler?

These would be the gasket and retaining ring for the header pipe to the cylinder head. You should not need these if you do not remove the pipe from the head.

65927-00GASKET, exhaust interconnect (2)
YES, this one connects the crossover pipe to each muffler.

Yes the correct muffler clamp.
