Question How big?

Hi everyone! I have a new (to me) 2006 1200c. It's going to need new rubber either by the end of this riding season or the beginning of the next. Whats the widest tire I can mount on the rear of a stock 1200c?

Thanks in advanced for all advise.

Ed

Not that I have an answer, but may help if you can attach the rim and wheel sizes for your make and model.

On the stock rim I wouldn't go more then the 150 because it's a 3", for a 170 you need at least a 4,5" rim to have the full 170 width. I did that tire swapping a lot, take a look at "my garage". If you
go for example with a 150 Avon that looks wider then the Dunlop does.

FWIW, I've got a 160/80-16 on my stock rear wheel. 2007 XL1200L if that matters.

The stock wheel is 3" so I doubt that it will measure 160 because the stock 150 barely reaches 150, but I like to hear what other people put on their bikes al so a 160 is not
that common overhere.
