green
i heard somethin from my boss today that ive never heard before and just wanna see if he was pullin my leg. We are repainting his 57 panhead deep burgandy and while sanding off the old blue paint i found a layer of green candie over gold metalic.Neat as hell looking paint job. Anyways, he told me that his uncle in law painted it that color than repainted it the blue because it is supposed to be bad luck to paint a harley green. I know there are some more experienced people in the world of harleys(most of em) than me and wanted their oppinion or say so on this.

RE: green
The "bad luck" of green motorcycles dates back to WW1. They used motorcycles as curriers to transport information, to and from the front. The enemy would set traps for the army green motorcycle riders. Personally, I owned a beautiful green 1998 Road King, which I had nothing but "GOOD LUCK", in many ways.
