You can Relate.

RE: You can Relate.
For some reason when I'm stopped on an incline, and the light turns green, I sometimes, suddenly find out I'm in second gear. Let out the clutch and - -- you know the rest. This happened twice in the past month, both times with impatient cagers behind me. Embarrasing and dangerous. Never seems to happen when i'm on flat ground, where I could likely get away with a second-gear takeoff....no chance on a hill, though.

I was at the local stealership when they had a sidewalk sale and demo rides, when after demo-ing a Softail Custom and a Wide Glide (I liked the Softail more btw), I got on my Sporty to go home and when I opened the throttle, I stalled it twice in front of all these people. I couldn't get outta there fast enough. The stock bikes seemed not to have the throttle response mine does. I think that's what happened.
Wasn't the first time, either LOL. I'm sure it wasn't the last.

The Softail was way more comfortable for me. I'm 6' even, and the foot controls are farther away than my forwards on my 1200C. I felt it didn't handle as well, but then I didn't get too fast on it, either. They only let us ride them about five miles or so through congested roads. We had to follow a guide. The mini-apes were more comfortable too. The seat is amazingly comfortable, not like the rock I sit on now LOL. It didn't feel as heavy as mine, a lot lower center of gravity, but it is a heavier bike. My Sporty felt top heavy compared to the Softail. Ride it before you buy it, you'll love it. Definately my next bike. I hope I answered your questions.
