Default My 06 sportster 1200 custom is now a Christmas tree. Update: Solved

Hey guys, let me give you some background.

My buddy borrowed my bike, on a particularly hot day here in eastern PA. Later that day he called me saying my bike wouldn’t start. He had it towed to me. Next morning I take a look at it.

When I checked out the bike I tried cranking it. I heard the solenoid click, then lost all power without starter motor turning and I saw a little puff of smoke from the positive terminal.

I start jiggling things trying to identify the
loose connection but to no avail, just some sparks. So I disconnect the wires from + battery, remove the unused accessory cable, removed the little plastic covering on the tip of main wire (it was cracked and melted and I thought it was contributing to bad connection), then reconnected main wire and starter wire.

Bike starts fine.

Today I go for a ride and I notice that some things are out of wack.

1) Speedo is dark, except red key.
2) odometer is dark unless the reset button is pressed.
3) two front turn signals are on constantly (or perhaps the accessory lights there?), rear ones are off. None respond to clicking buttons.
4) brake light and taillight constantly on.

things that are still working
1) lowbeam
2) high beam
3) high beam indicator
4) starting and ignition systems.

where do I start?

Update: I can’t check the diag codes.

with the ignition off and kill switch set to run I

1) press and hold odometer reset button
2) turn key to ignition
3) release reset button

and nothing happens. No needle sweeping. No background illumination. Odometer shows miles. And Speedo shows just red key icon.

Update 2: found blown accessory fuse. Replaced with the spare and all is well. I probably just arced the battery and blew it?
