I have often wondered how much, if any, the unequal pipes hurt performance? Thought of building my own 2-1 system, but no way could it be like the ones that wrap around the front of the case.

I built a Sporty Scrambler last summer as well... Turned out great and rides like a champ, super fun bike... Have fun with your build.

That is a nice looking bike. Is it an 883 or 1200 or?

It's a 2005 1200 Custom XL1200C - It's essentially a stage II bike with free flowing intake, 2-1 Exhaust and a Andrews N4 cam set.

Nice XR1200! That looks great set up like that. Interesting exhaust on the blue scrambler how it runs behind the rear shock. G.B.

3dognate, your scrambler looks sweet!. Which version of the Stiletto shocks did you use and what spring kit did put in the forks if anything? Thanks, G.B.

It's the 15" Stiletto set. you WILL have to grid off the passenger foot peg mount to clear the belt or chain in my case. The chain JUST clears the master cylinder pivot. But that's a non-issue with pre-2004 models. I used Progressive Heavy Duty springs in the forks. My suspension is firm and handles AWESOME... no way I'm bottoming out on any sane riding.

What a great thread! I love the idea of a Sporty scrambler. Some good builds going on!

Believe it or not, I saw this one just last week at the local dealership:
