Sportster Scrambler Project

Seems about the time we get these bikes how we like em, we trade em off. Been working on getting "the right sound" for my Ultra, and realized that right after I got the sporty sounding perfect, I sold it. Hmmmm hopefully this is not a recurring pattern.
I miss the sporty, but when I am cruising on the freeway at 75+ and its buttery smooth, I remember why I sold it. Even for my short trips into town (25 miles each way) and maneuvering in town, I realize I prefer this bike. The only advantage I miss is the sporty is a little easier to move around when I am walking it.
At this point, if I ever stepped back down in bike size, it would still prob be to a Dyna. That 6 speed makes all the difference to me. HD should have done that years ago.

Thanks WKNDS! Its a decent example but not cosmetically perfect. But with Russian quality and materials its pretty nice, haha. Oh yeah, I have 4 new tires that I am putting on over the winter here as (3) of them were original with 7,000 miles on the bike. G.B.

Is the seat loop tubing or solid. I assume tubing. If you want a real clean, factory look, you could cut a cap from a piece of the loop tubing and weld in in place over where you joined it to the main frame. Fill it in with welds and grind smooth and you will look very hard to see how it was done.
Looks very solid, coming from one that was a sceptic before. I'd say you are well on your way to achieving your goal. Looks fantastic. I am jealous.
Are the rear shocks 14"? How much ground clearance does it have? Did you say before, what fender/tail light setup you are going to use?
