Default Mounting Aux/passing/fog lights

I see the bars for these lights on the touring bikes, but have any of you guys done this to a sporty? I want to relocate my front signals but wouldn't mind the extra road lights, so I figure might as well look into doing it with a light bar instead of just triple clamp kits.

Along this line, would it be advisable to drill and tap two holes in the bottom triple clamp to mount this bar? Otherwise I do not see where else to bolts one.

Suggestions, advice?

I have never mounted a light bar before, but I see no reason you could not do it. There is no reason you could not drill and tap into the triple clamps, either upper or lower. There is plenty of material there to work with. I have drilled and tapped into other triple clamps that were not as heavy duty as ours, with no issues at all. While it is nice to buy something that will bolt right on.
Its also fun to come up with something you like, and make it work for you. Plus you wont see it on every other Sportster.

Ok thanks. The triple clamps seemed heavy enough to me, but never having drilled one before I did not want to jeopardize its integrity.

Will post pics when I get it done. Have ideas in my head rattling around. I want the aux lights in hand before I do anything.

I too thought HD offered a "bolt on" light bar for a Sportster.
That would be my choice.

Or maybe some short brackets onto the triple clamp fork tube pinch bolts?
FWIW, personally I would not be thrilled drilling the fork trees.

Well when I searched for aux light bar for sportster nothing came up. Your part number worked, but their offering does not move the turn signals, which I also want. I had thought of buying the clamps and building my own. Might end up doing it that way still. I want to make sure both clear my windshield.

I wanted to mount to the tree so it was not "one more thing" to have to remove to work on the forks.
