Default 07 Nightster exhaust

Need advice,

I am looking to make my Nightster sound as mean as it looks. I want to get a set off pipes that arent as long as the stock ones, maybe have the second pipe end right around where the rear wheel rim starts. I have looked into the V&H short shots and was wondering how loud those are and if they provide a good sound. Please post links if you have suggestions of nice pipes for what I am looking for, dont forget they have to have the 02 censors. Thanks for the help

i'm going to most likely go with Pipe Dreamz "Wet Dreamz" in flat black on my olive/denim nightster. I've seen a pic of them on a nightster, looked bitchin'
Here's a link. I talked to the owner...really cool old timer who doesn't feed you any bs and tells you how it is instead of what you want to hear.

I put V&H straight shot slip ons on my nightster..... sounds killer.... very loud like a HD should sound. I just got my bike back from the 1000 well 1300 mile maint. While it was in I had a race tuner and stage one a/c done. All I can say is WOW what a difference. Lot more torque than I expected.

My nightster no longer sounds like a sewing machine.

Taxes paid and well worth it.

Two questions for you. By very loud do you mean people will hear me from blocks away? also, do those have baffeling in them and if so can it be removed? I love the pics, very nice bike.

Yes they will hear you from a distance. They come wih basically no baffle but if it is too loud they sell a baffle for it. V&H has a sound clip on their site.

Out of the box they are louder than the clip.

A guy on ebay always has them listed for $199 plus shipping which is the cheapest I have ever come across.... I believe they are $265 at the dealership.

I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Good luck with your search for pipes there is soo much to choose from, many good pipes out there.

If the bike idles, is it hard to talk to someone ? The reason i ask is because I want to give my nightster a growl with its bad look and right now if I sit next to a diesel truck at a light I can barely hear my bike. So if I understand correctly, its head turning loud even from pretty far away?
