Default Where/how did you mount your license plate ?

I could be the minority here, but I wanted to mount my license plate other than side mount.
Preferably below rear fender or literally on the tail end of rear fender (holes will have to be drilled)

While I'm not completely against side mounting, I've yet to see a clean and not too much asymmetrical look from the rear.

Where/how did you mount your license plate and any creative way for sportsters?

I took the inner part of the factory plate mount out (had to drill out a rivet) then bent the mount part down to give a lay down plate look and used the stock holes to remount it then chopped the fender up to it. You can see it in some of the pics in my gallery (I also added a fork bag just forward of the bag to carry some stuff).

That looks clean and I really like how you placed the fork bag in the rear !!
Cutting the fender to and after mounting the plate made them look very fitted and complete.
am I seeing a LED strip on the bottom of the bag in one of the picture ?
thanks for sharing.

Yes as part of the job I got rid of the big ugly tail light and installed the run/turn/brake kit from Harley which worked great but I was worried about getting rear ended by someone not paying attention to the small signals acting as brake lights so I installed a short LED strip light to act as an additional brake light. I also had to address the plate light once I had removed the tail light so I ordered two licence plate bolts with built in LED's. Now it is fully legal and very obvious when I apply the brakes with the center LED strip and the signals acting as brake lights.
Here is the post from when I did the fender chop: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sport...ar-fender.html

I just cut a piece long enough for the license plate and drilled the mounting holes. Welded it on the fender and than drilled a smaller hole under the mount to run the wires for my led license plate bracket. Ran the wires along the inside of the fender where the turn signal wires go.
