Default UPDATE - LOVE my new forward controls!!

Well, hubby put new forward controls on my 883 Low .. and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!Was riding a bit Saturday, and about 100+ miles yesterday, and not even a hint of a leg ache, never mind any cramping like I was having. (Now my BUTT... THAT'sa different story). But it was definitely the right thing to do, at least for ME. Of course it took a few times starting up from 1st, letting out the clutch, pulling the legs up to put on the pegs ... and missed completely, HA HA !! But it feel so natural now, and I think it has bumped up my enjoyment of my new bike SOOOO much. Just wanted to share!!

Perch - glad to hear you're comfortable with the forwards! Now you can get down to some serious riding! I also think forwards are the only way to go.

I find it's a nice relaxed, laid back ride.

Still think you might want to consider putting the mid mount pegs back on just to take some pressure off the butt on long rides .Just my 2 cents

I appreciate your 2 cents! We've kept the original mounts, although I'd have to buy new pegs, because the pegs had to go on the forward controls, if I'm not mistaken (hubby's the mechanic, not me!). But I think both he feels it will not be as easy as it might seem, and I THINK someone here said they had to bore something out, or something like that. SO ... it is still a possibility at some point.

Foward controls are the only way to go. You might want to look into getting a different seat, perhaps the gel style that pads the butt for long rides.

You can accomplish that by using the passenger foot pegs.

May I ask which forward controls you got? If you got something other than the HD controls, how is the quality?

Well, actually it turned out he didn't have to use the existing pegs after all..... Ya know, I don't even know if I have passenger pegs anyway?? Got a solo seat, I know that. Well, I won't be riding passengers so no biggie. Now you got me curious.
