Default Wrong oil ?

2016 48. I just changed the oil in my bike when I realized I bought non synthetic I buy thru Amazon, I bought the “Lucas 20w 50” high performance motor oil not realizing it wasn’t the synthetic Lucas 20 50 I normally buy till I changed it. My question is, is this non synthetic Gona damage my motor ? In a short term use till I get the synthetic? Appreciate any help.

Of course it's not going to harm your engine. Just change back to synthetic the next Oil Change

My opinion but I wouldn't put Lucas in my lawn mower. In every oil test I have ever seen it finishes dead last. But then again its your motorcycle.

Your bike came from the factory with HD 360 20w-50 conventional motor oil.

From the 2016 Sportster owner's manual:
https://serviceinfo.harley-davidson....369633!!3!5729

"This motorcycle was originally equipped with GENUINE HARLEY-DAVIDSON H-D 360 MOTORCYCLE OIL 20W50. H-D 360 is the preferred oil under normal operating conditions.
If H-D 360 is not available, add oil certified for diesel engines. Acceptable designations include: CH-4, CI-4 and CJ-4."

The Lucas oil you bought is rated
  • Meets or exceeds: API SG / SF / CC / CD, JASO MA & JASO MA-2, ACEA A3
Since the Lucas High Performance Motorcycle oil is not diesel rated CH-4, CI-4 or CJ-4 it technically does not meet the HD recommendations.
The Lucas 20w-50 synthetic also is not API diesel rated. It is API SL rated.

Neither will likely harm your engine.
