Forward Controls vs Mid Controls

10 years ago you couldn’t have paid me to ride a bike with forward controls, however, old age and arthritis changed all that.
After a short ride on my wife’s Wide Glide, I found a new pleasure in riding. I sold my Buells and switched my V-Rod to forwards, now switched out the V-Rod for a Sportster with forwards and loving it!

Don't havecthe highway pegs, but I too like the handling better with mids. Sold off the forwards and bought mids. Short legs and long reach to the brake is not a good combo.

Same here! I bought mids, but kept my forward controls just in case I didn't like them. Rosa's with the mids a couple of times and the cramps never stopped so I went back to the forwards. I also have a 30" inseam and the forwards feel more like half mids to me.

I have to say I've had both, personally I much prefer forwards on a cruiser style ride, despite me being a short ****. Probably an age thing also I guess as I now fall into the "old fart" category...
A few years back I owned a 2009 V-rod and loved the riding position with the forwards the only thing I had to be aware of was when winding the V-rod up there was a tendency for the wind pressure to lift you feet right off the rests, happened a few times, had to slow down to get them back on... Fortunately not something that happens on my 48...
