Exclamation Turn signals and Horn stoped working?? What is this? Help

HI HDF,

My turn signals and horn just stopped working this morning when I had the motorcycle running on idle. What could be the cause of this and where should I look??

a little background:
I put a new turn signal in the right handlebar because I smashed it a couple of years back and hadn't ridden since because I was living in another country. Earlier this month, I soldered the one turn signal into the right handlebar wiring and connected it to the bike via the usual plastic connectors last night. Everything was working fine. Then, I put exhaust wraps on and let it run on idle for ten minutes or so with a few turns of the gas. before I shut it down the blinkers and horn weren't operational. What could this be?

thanks for any help guys, i don't know where to turn next to figure it out

I would look at the fix you noted about the turn signals. Sounds like a direct short

Check to make sure that you haven't pinched any wires along the way. That will cause your fuse to blow whenever you try to use that switch. As far as only blowing when the engine is on, I am lost on that one...

i thought about that too, but i dont know how that would be. it appeared to be a simple connection. i just hooked up the same color wires to each other. soldered them, then shrink wrapped individually before wrapping in electrical together.

is there something that looks weird?

That looks normal to me but I am not an electrical expert by any means.

When I relocated turn signals and changed handlebars, I pinched a wire where the wires mount into the controls by the grips. That's the place I would know to look. Did you change anything up there? BUt, it could be pinched anywhere along the frame, or moisture could be on an exposed wire somewhere.
