Default 2018 Iron, New Handlebars

2018 1200 "Iron", Came from fact with 10 Mini-apes. I am thinking of changing them out for the Bitlwell "Frisco" or Window bars. Im gonna double ck and and make sure they are the same height so I wont have to play with the cables. I guess I need the "dimpled" ones? Anyone using them? Pros-Cons? Regards "Big E"

I allways use dimpled to put my wires true the bars, much easier to do when they are dimpled. You drill the hole in the center from
the dimple is much easier this way. If you change the bars put away the cables in one time, much cleaner look. I always do this with
my bikes.

You can see some examples in "My Garage" logo in my sig.

I'm not sure he's asking about running wires through the bars. But yes, you need dimpled bars because of the way the wires come out of the hand controls,...at least on my 2012 model.

You want to make sure the bars are knurled at the bottom where it gets clamped to the riser. I bought bars that were not knurled and they've been a pain in the butt from day one. I've tried many tricks to get them to stop moving,....not worth it. Get knurled!

I love the new Iron mini apes. I spent a lot of money trying to get my 2012 to look just like it!

100%. Did you remove the connectors or were your bar holes big enough to run them through as is? I had to remove mine.

I removed the connectors and soldering the new wires because it came from low handlebars to mini apes, the oem wiring is to short so I extend them with soldering
new pieces. I never buy the ready to go kits, I make my own wiring.

We've all been there. The urge to modify and spend. If you have the itch then I might suggest a custom seat and stage 1 upgrade. HD got the looks right on the new Iron. Ride it. Don't ruin it.

For the stage 1 you dont need to spend a fortune. Air cleaner that can breathe and slip ons to add some needed bark. If you're concerned about warranty your dealer has options.
