A not so sticky situation...
Hey guys/gals,
I’ve got this 2013 Sportster 72. I’ve recently installed a white solo spring saddle and want to swap out the black OEM grips for white “coke-bottle” style, vintage ones. I was able to install them fine, but can’t get them to stick solid and not rotate on the handlebar. The theottle side grip works well, but the clutch side is impossible to permanently glue to the bar end.
I’m using isopropyl rubbing alcohol to clean the grip and the bar. Applying a liberal amount of ThermaBond Grip Glue and letting it dry/cure for 24+ hours and no luck. I noticed what looks like it might be a hole for a set-screw? Pic attached.
White seat and grips
“Mr. Lucky’s white grip and grip glue
Set screw hole?
Possible set screw hole from the top
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Ryan
