Default Shorter kickstand?

I recently lowered my sporty with the Burly brand slammer kit in the rear and now it is sitting straight up when on the kick stand. Where’s the best kickstand for me to get so I don’t have to worry about the bike falling over?

Find out what length your stand is, then just google Harley Jiffy stands or kickstands and there is alot of choices to pick from. You need the stock length first for a starting point.

GO to JP Cycles and type in your bike model and year, then look for a -1 (1" under stock)

Stands from Nightsters (XL1200N) are shorter as well.

Get someone to help you.
Mark the spot where your stand touches the ground right now. Then put the jiffy in the stowed position and (this is where you need someone helping you) with someone straddling the bike, have them lean it over until it's at the proper resting angle, and measure from the pivot to the mark on the ground. There's your new length.

Or, park it on top of a board or two (1/2" higher, 1" higher) until it leans at the correct angle, and subtract that height from the length of your current stand. But that's not as accurate.

Measure from the pivot to the shoulder of the foot, down the back side of the stand. When you go to buy your new stand, that's a measurement you can check (or someone can check for you) before going through the hassle of spending money, or wasting time.

What sportster do you have and what was the length of the shocks you replaced? Burly I believe is 10.5".eye to eye.

1" under is normally sufficient which is what I did when I installed the burly slammers...but I had a XL1200L with 11.5" stock eye to eye.

I actually do not recall seeing anything other than 1" under and 1" over stock.
