About right, they will drop ship from another supplier is all, depending on how late model you have try this place, I've been using stuff from 30+ yrs now. Place like J&P have huge markups price wise

A homemade "improvised" tool from a furniture/wood clamp can be useful for this, here's some pics:
If the tube's threads are really butchered badly, I'd recommend getting a new/used tube
and a fork rebuild kit. RonniesHD microfiche can be used to get part numbers...

With a scenario of only getting 1 tube or even adding 1 cap, neither would have met FREE shipping
I think that our point (yours/mine) is that OEM Pricing can sometimes be more reasonable than one might expect and sometimes cheaper than the aftermarket
.

Y’all have been a big help. The buddy is banned from the garage. As for new tubes I checked a few shops around me and the one shop that had a tube wants $120 for a used tube that looks worse than the one with bad threads. Has anyone here heard of, or bought parts from HardDrive? Found two tubes for $150 from them.
Years back, a "friend" of mine was helping me put new spark plug wires on my (new to me) '67 Fairlane GTA. It was very late in the evening, the day before I was due to report to my new duty station. We didn't have a Chilton's manual, or any other info, we were SUPPOSED to be pulling and replacing one at a time.
I walk away for a minute, and next thing I know, my "friend" has ALL the wires pulled from the distributor, and one side of the engine.
This was (waaaay) back in the day before the interwebs, all the stores were closed, no manual to show us the firing order, so I had to leave my car at my "friends" house and take a bus to Ft. Campbell, KY..
First and last time he helped me work on my car.
Glad you got the info you needed. The members of this forum are awesome.
