Like WKNDS says ...

Stock length OE tube #46218-05 for your 08 883L is $63.00 at BoardTracker or cheaper at Surdyke.com $54.26

Or if you made the switch to the NON "L" ... then #45395-04 ... $66.27 at Surdyke

.

I ordered a set off eBay for the stock height. I have enough putting on the original ones that you’ll notice a one new fork tube. Again thanks for all the help!

I’ll check this site out! Once I get the bike back on the road I’m gonna start saving towards customizing it the way I want it. I also need new brakes here soon too. I appreciate it!

If the tube's threads are really butchered badly, I'd recommend getting a new/used tube
and a fork rebuild kit. RonniesHD microfiche can be used to get part numbers...

hth,

My old man was telling me about a similar set up he used to use. I’ll definitely rig this up for the new forks! Thank you!

Thing is, you get free shipping at Boardtracker for orders over $99.
For Surdyke it has to be $149.

So just have to find out how much shipping costs are at Surdyke.

Oh for sure, you have to take that all into consideration (go in with eyes open), just giving options... people a lot of times need "more stuff"

With a scenario of only getting 1 tube or even adding 1 cap, neither would have met FREE shipping

I think that our point (yours/mine) is that OEM Pricing can sometimes be more reasonable than one might expect and sometimes cheaper than the aftermarket

Has anyone here heard of, or bought parts from HardDrive? Found two tubes for $150 from them.
A wise man only needs to learn a lesson once.

Years back, a "friend" of mine was helping me put new spark plug wires on my (new to me) '67 Fairlane GTA. It was very late in the evening, the day before I was due to report to my new duty station. We didn't have a Chilton's manual, or any other info, we were SUPPOSED to be pulling and replacing one at a time.

I walk away for a minute, and next thing I know, my "friend" has ALL the wires pulled from the distributor, and one side of the engine.

This was (waaaay) back in the day before the interwebs, all the stores were closed, no manual to show us the firing order, so I had to leave my car at my "friends" house and take a bus to Ft. Campbell, KY..

First and last time he helped me work on my car.

Glad you got the info you needed. The members of this forum are awesome.
