Default Rear Springs

I just saw something in a different thread about the rear springs being adjustable. Since I don't have my bike until next week, I haven't had a chance to look at 'em yet. How much difference in height from stock to lowest?

Thanks,

Default RE: Rear Springs

The spring adjustment refers to preload on the springs and not necessarily the hgt. The heavier the load the more preload you'll want to maintain the right amount of spring sag under load (the springs compress on average3/4-1" when you sit on the bike)and shock travel keeping he shock from bottoming out. It does however affect the ride hgt. with more preload since it keeps the shocks from compressing so much under load. The stock shocks are pretty much junk though (over sprung and under dampened) so you will probably be like the rest of us and switching to Progressive shocks.

Like capttawes said. You can pick up a spanner wrench, used to adjust the shocks, from the dealer or indy for about $10.
