Default Stuck with forwed controls shifter piece to tight :(

I purchased some forward controls from www.chopperscycle.com/page/VTS/PROD/40000 Everything went ok, the problemI have is the shifter piece is to tight so when I shift it just gets stuck. I think the plastic inside the main piece is to thick around the metal piece that the foot pegs attatch to. If it was just a bit looser like the break piece it would work perrfect, did i get a defective part>>?? any suggestions welcome

thnks
