Gary you may not want to replace the seat but just get a seat pad for long rides. I hear (I can't say from experience) that the roho airhawk is the most comfortable pad around http://www.therohogroup.com. I've seen new ones on ebay for a little over $100. They are the company that makes pads for wheelchairs. I put 800 miles on a stock Nightster seat last weekend. Mya** fell asleep in the first 90 miles and when I got off my bike the wife said my backside looked like someone had taken a meat tenderizer to it.

Question

The Sundowner looks wide, would it cover over the oil temp gauge?

That is the one Im leaning towards. I will need to order this monday to get it by the 20th.
I like the looks of the Mustang Original Studded, but it's about $70 more. I would pay the extra if it is as comfortable as every one said the Sundowner is...Thanks Gary.

I still have time to get one by next wednesday, we take off on friday the 20th. the Sundowner is $284 O.T.D. Mustang studded $340 o.t.d. or the
Vintage $310 o.t.d. and the Regal Duke $ 300 o.t.d.
I like the looks of the Mustang seats better, But Im not sure if they are soft like I want. No one has one around for me to look at.

Question, would the Sundowner cover over my oil temp gauge at all?

Thanks...Gary.

Hi Gary, I have my like new Mustang Vintage seat (std. width) & pillion for sale cheap (only 5 months old) over on another forum click here:
http://xlforum.net/pp_classified/sho...t=4&page=1. The Mustang is firm for support but softer than stock seats as it is thicker.

Otherwise, I have the Sundowner and no it does not cover your oil temp. guage.

My experience with the Mustage was limited to a fairly short ride. It was plenty comfy for the butt, but didn't provide as much lower back support. That's a big issue for me.

Well, I've put a fewmonths of seat time on my Mustang and will say that it was very supportive and comfortable but in comparing it to the SD I would say the SD has more bucket design and taller back support and I don't think sits as high as the Mustang. The SD is not as good looking but is defintely worth the money (only $198 at Zanottis). I would have probably purchased another Mustang touring seatwith wider passenger section for the Mrs. but the cost difference was too great for the amount of time she rides with me.

I was just on the Harley site and I cant find a Sundowner for a Sportster
like my 2000 C. All I can find is for 04 up to 07. They do make them for the 91-03's dont they???.
