Shifting issues after installing Barnett extra plate clutch kit
i have a 2007 1200 Custom and recently had to replace the clutch plates. Used the Barnett extra plate clutch kit, everything went smoothly. Now up shifting I have no issue with whatsoever. Shifts clean. Downshifting is another matter. It doesn't want to downshift at all! I have to fight it to get it to shift down, and there are times in having to take off from a light in 2nd or 3rd gear. Anyone else have this problem?
How the hell do you fix it?

I read somewhere that apparently the Barnett instructions have not been updated, and the 2 skinny cushion/spring/whatever they're called plates/rings in the very back of the clutch pack have to be removed for the specific kit (someone correct me on this if I'm wrong). Did you take them out?
I'd definitely check the cable, I did the extra plate a few days back, and thought I totally screwed up. Turned out I actually didn't know how to adjust the clutch cable & broke it.

I've had one of their kits for several years in my Glide (pretty well the same as for a Sporty) and it's been fine throughout, with improved gear changes. Carefully go back over the adjustment process to ensure clutch adjustment is correct. There are two Stickies in the Tech Primary section with instructions. If all else fails, certainly contact Barnett for suggestions and to check what the good Lord said above.
