I have seen alot of people use the touring model air shocks. I never have so not sure how much better they are. But people who have say its much better. Im sure any late model shocks will work. I think they all use a 1/2 inch eyelet like yours.
I would just make sure there are no leaks. If they have a shrader valve in them you can inflate them and submerge it in a bucket of water and see if its leaking.

I understand there are better shocks out there, seems there always is. My issues are travel and cost. If I decided to put some of those on, it might not ever happen. It's hard, on fixed income, to justify that kind of cash outlay fora bike that gets ridden just a couple times a week. I am not one to go hard in the corners and not sure I would notice the difference in rebound adjustments, to be truthful. I just don't like hitting a pressure ridge in the road and sending it up my backside because the shocks bottomed out.
Not lookiing to make this a canyon carver, just a bit more comfortable to ride.
I do appreciate the informed responses, as they help me understand when I am or am not getting top of the line stuff.

Let me tell you a story! A pal has a twincam Wide Glide - not a bike renown for it's handling or performance. He got a bee in his bonnet about improving the ride comfort and eventually had some fully adjustable shocks and fork cartridges installed, by a suspension specialist. I warned him his bike would be faster, as well as more comfortable - it was better than spending a lot of money on the engine. He admitted a couple of weeks later that he had been cruisin' along a favourite road, enjoying the experience - at 100 mph! Comfort, speed, cornering, stability, what more does a backside need?
Jus' teasin'......

As grbrown mentioned, they are not in the same realm as a good shock, but they are definitely better than the 412's or the stock shocks on your 2007 for absorbing the bumps.

There is a spring inside them, they won't sink all the way down. The air acts as the pre-load adjustment, so it can be adjusted for the weight of the rider & passenger.
