A couple things that might help blackie... I have scraped my exhaust on two occasions while riding my 1200N... When you are turning right... Keep in mind that it is preferable to be near the left side of the lane before the turn... This will enable you to lean less sharply and accelerate a little more through the corner. Both times Iscuffed my lower right pipe were a result of turning too slowly/leaning too far. I considered it to be rider error on my part. Also, forward controls do help greatly with the exhaust heat issue.. Especially if you go with a larger peg set (e.g. FS skull pegs).

Good advice lucky... You know you can also just heat up the pipes and scrape the burnt rubber off with your thumbnail... This is testy of course, because if you touch skin... OUCH! I have used this technique a few times though, and it worked very well and left no marring/scratching.

Longer pegs will help some. I drag my nightster everyonce in a while but I also have shortshots on her. What kind of rear seat it that. I was looking into getting one?

If you get a PCIII race tuner you can pretty much run whatever pipes you'd like. They dont use the 02 sensors. The drawback is that you'll have to have it tuned which can be a bit pricey.

They make black forward controls that look wicked on a nightster. As for the shoe goo, spray some windex on em when they are warm and wipe the goo off. As for pipes, my bike is older so take the previous advice on that one.
