Windshield glare on hi beam
#23
OK I might have found my own answer. This is NOT a HD windshield. Engraved in the lower corner is Memphis Shades 6230. That explains a few things. Unfortunately. I just sent a email off the Mamphis Shades and will see if they have a solution. I would like to keep the QD mounts if possible, so will see what they say. I bet the L shaped mount is theirs too, which explains the difference between my mount and grbrowns.

My visor comes today and I will try the tape. Good idea as a try and see. That WILL cut out the light entering the bottom. Still will be a lot of glare inside shining back at me, I think. Considering fabing my own brackets, and if I make em pretty enough, sending off to be chromed.

That is exactly what I will do if the tape works. I was just in my garage eyeballing the setup, and I MIGHT try taping off the portion of the shield that will be below the visor, as a test. If that works I think I will spray it with some flat black paint, on the inside. That way it will still look nice outside.
I thought about window film but I don't think it comes in flat, and that would still reflect light back up to me. This will be a trial and error process. Hopefully I remember to take pics and report back on each step.
The visor comes today, so I will install that and the pics will come after dark. I think I will wait till after dark to install the visor, to show you guys just how bad it is, in current form. This is all from high beam only, low has no effect, no glare.

Here's a pic of my HD QD windshield mounts. I added some heatshink to the clamps that
gives them a bit more bite without over stressing the clamps.
