Nice ! I am a big believer of doing it myself as well.

You've done a great job of making lemonade from lemons.

Nobody would be the wiser and you have the satisfaction of saying you did it yourself!

Hope the eyes get better soon so you will have a chance to enjoy your work,.

The eyes are improving a little each day. They told me it would go like this. Double vision, foggy vision, you mame it.

I got my mid controls on today. The rear bolt on the front muffler, was frozen solid. Liquid wrench, propane torch, vice grips, nothing worked. So I came up with a do or die idea. I welded a 10" handle to the head of the bolt. That was interesting since it was mostly a guess where the freaking bolt was during this process. Eventually, after 5 different tries, I got it on there. A few light taps with the hammer and it came loose. I love it when a hairbrained idea works.

once it was turning free, I used said hammer to knock the handle off the bolt and unscrewed it with the vice grips. I ended up putting the same bolt back in to finish the job, but with copper anti sieze on it, till I get a replacememt. Does HD use metric or SAE? Seems some is metric, some is SAE.

Now I. Eed to get used to the mids. I took it for s short run down the road to make sure it sll works. One thing I hated about the forwards, was it forced my right knee against the air cleaner, jarring my leg continously. Now I do not even touch it. Did I mention I am vertically challenged?

Next project will be crash bars, and some day saddle bags.

Will need to clean up and list my forwards.

Thanks for all the great suggestions alonh the way.

Looks like you got it all sorted. Very Nice!!!

Regarding the Headlight Relocation Kit, no, you do Not need to extend the wiring, there is enough factory wire length.
