Harley's Sportster is a legendary, highly popular bike. But this '68 might be the finest of them all.

Very cool.
Funny I don't listen to what salesmen say very much but when I looked at mine brand new in the showroom the salesman told me it was a throwback to the 1960's Sportsters... well I guess he was right, same peanut tank, same color paint, same tank decal, same dual gauges, same black cylinders with highlighted fin edges...just about twins but 39 years apart!

A closer shot of it would be interesting. My first Harley was a new 1974 FX1200, which came with an alarm system mounted in the same place, operated with an extra key. I don't recall what brand it was, but it had a thick plastic-moulded case and howled it's head off if the bike was lifted off the jiffy - assuming the battery inside was in decent condition!

No alarm on mine it is stock key and location.
Here is a photo of the FLorida Antique tag.
The key location is stock and below it is the horn (which I dumped since it did not work. You can also tell the previous owner spray painted the horn and surronding area. How nice would it be to actually remove or tape off the area. Dang overspray.

Pal of mine had a similar model to yours. My FX had the usual ignition key, but there was an extra lock, different key, in the added alarm. Taking a longer look at the blue bike above I can better make out the rear plate now - I went off at a tangent, so sorry about that. Back to Sportsters.....
