Default left grip housing not closing

I recently purchased AIR-96-BOSS for my 2012 Sportster 1200 custom , the left side (clutch) housing will not close, flush. Did I get the right ones? any suggestions?

Things don't flush up on both side there's usually something pinched you don't want to be, take it apart and look.

On my '05, there is a recess on the under side of the bars for the wiring to sit in.
If your grip is not far enough on the bar it will crush the wiring loom.
