Latest update, I went to my local Harley dealer and found out a new throttle body complete with fuel rail, injectors and all sensors was $520 . I think that is reasonable for the whole setup and the part number was superseded three times so hopefully it is an improved reworked unit. Only problem is none in Australia so I have to wait three weeks for one from the good ole USA, no offence intended. Les.

XR1200 fast idle problem
I did EVENTUALLY get the bike fixed in spite of all the resistance i got from Harley Davidson USA. After ordering and paying for a new throttle body i was made to wait six months and jump through all sorts of hurdles before HD would release a new part to me. The whole painful process is discussed in detail on the Harley XR 1200 owners forum. No Apologies or compensation offered for the un necessary delay and six months registration fees evaporated.

Dash Lights Display
hiya fixed the over reving issue. Took the air box off & reassembled it properly as i found it was not put back together right also found the two breather line were cracked and split so i replaced them. It now when cold pushes to about 1800rpm then drops straight up so looks like I found simple solution to problem
BUT the engine light and charge light comes on when taking off. I pull over turn ignition off and then restart and the lights go off.
Happens occasionally now & again thats what made me think it may have been Power Commander
No error codes displaying
Have had the whole electrics tested and they are all correct
The Battery is new
Charging output is fine
New Oil & filter
anyone come across this issue before and have any advice where to go looking from here
