Default need some help on a sporty value

My brother in law bought a new 16 883 last year at the Dealership. he rode 800 miles, added a ton of **** (accessories like bags, foot controls, back rest etc). He never rides it now and it has only about 800 miles on it and now he wants to sell it. I see these priced all over the map, It is a black 16 883 with like I said about 800 miles. What is a fair deal on this? I know he is going to take it up the a** as he paid about 10k for it. he does have the title in hand , no loan.

thanks

He will take a beating on the price for sure, figuring in the 19's are already hitting the floors. He now has a 3 year old bike. He may be better off selling the extras seperate. Like you saw, the prices are all over the place, but most never get the high prices asked.
Its very hard to sell a used bike priced close to new bike prices, I would venture to say at the very high end maybe 7k if you find the right person, but more than likely i bet it will be in the 5,500 to 6k range at best.

An 883 is the cheapest Harley made. Dressing it up with "extras" does not increase the resale value, because is is still just an 883 Sportster. Kelley Blue Book says an Iron 883 is worth $7690 Retail and $5610 Trade In.

I figured it was worth 5500-6, I know the extras don’t add. Was just saying that to illustrate how much more he will get ****$d

Easily $7000 no problem. But don't forget, no one wants the "add ons" that someone else thought was cool. So you'll take a loss on that.

Have to check CL to see what they are selling for in your area. Only takes a couple of desperate lowball sellers to effect the market.

A 3 year old Iron with 800 miles? I think so. It's basically new, 2 grand off and no delivery charge. I think he could get it no problem.

It's like we used to say in the body shop - there's an *** for every seat.
