i want a very aggressive sounding but quiet exhaust
i want a very aggressive sounding but quiet exhaust, ive had my 2013 883 for almost a year now and have driven across florida to school and home 6 times ive recently installed clip ons and a stage 1 intake to do like a cafe build. i want a aggressive sounding exhaust that pops and all that but isnt douchebag loud if you get me. i quite like how loud the stock pipe are but definitely louder but with a aggressive noise i cant find anything myself. please recommend some set up for me please

Supertrapp mufflers and full headers that use their disc system is probably the quietest aftermarket stuff. I quite liked the sound of the supermegs 2:1 system, it certainly will outperform (noise for given HP) everything else if noise is the primary concern. Nothing aftermarket will be as quiet as stock, nothing!

So you want loud, but not obnoxious loud? I'm guessing what you refer to as "douchebaggery" is very short pipes, or pipes with little or no baffles in them. Everybody likes something different, and peoples perception of "loud" is different. Best advice is to go find a group of bikes, and ask if you can hear their exhaust systems.

This is such a subjective and personal topic it's difficult to offer advice. I have a SuperTrapp 2-into-1 on my Glide which I love, but mainly because it gives remarkable performance and isn't too loud! However the design provides several ways of tuning for sound: there are optional open and closed end caps, plus the ability to stack a different number of baffles. Their Sporty system also looks just great IMHO!

OP, so subjective question you ask.
1) You have a Café style 883?
2) 2 into 1 header with ground clearance may be the best pipe, noting sound/ volume is subjective and fitting your Café styled bike.
3) Supertrapps one can add "end caps" or "spaces" to adjust volume, yet each cap will effect powerband.
4) 2013 do you have catalytic converters in your heads pipes...get new head pipes, retain current mufflers.
5) Search this forum, remove baffle, enlarge the baffle's holes, reinstall.
6) Snap crackle & pop is IMO a tuning error yet can be attained by having excess fuel mixture.
Good luck attaining your goal.

+1 on the supertrapp. I have one on my super glide and its a nice throaty idle and cruze but roars when I open it up.
Way back in '05 I had a hooker headers 2 into one with tunable baffle on my sporty it was similar to a supertrapp.
Sorry to say but the only way you'll make a 883 a screaming monster is straight pipes but your not looking for that so it should be fine. The further away you get from the tip of the pipe the quieter it will seem to you so keep that in mind too.
