Default What to buy?

Here are my choices? '06 1200L w/50 mi: $9,500.
Brand new "07 1200L: $10,200
'04 1200C w/6,600 mi, female ridden with detachablebags, windshield, stage1, screamin' eagle pipes and chrome everywhere: $7,500

The dilemma is mostly between the '06 and '07. I'd want to put Rineharts or V & H pipes on and it seems with the EFI on the '07 it would cost a fortune with the stage 1 or equivalent and whatever fuel management system I put on it.

Wouldn't the '06 only need the Stage 1 and a rejet?

Thanks for you help and opinions.

Steve

I dont know how much EFI update would cost but I dont think it would cost a fortune.
As far as the 06 goes, yea just a rejet is gonna be needed on that one.

That is a hard decision! Personally, I prefer vehicles of any sort to be new, just so I have that peace at mind that there has never been anything "unknown" to happen to it. Regardless, those choices you have sound pretty nice.

As for the EFI stuff. I bought an 07 1200C a little over a month ago and have since changed it to V&H Shortshots Staggered, SE Intake and V&H Fuel pak. I installed everything myself so labor cost a few beers.

Actual cost:

Fuel Pak $210
Pipes $260
SE Intake $140

So $610 in parts will get you there, +/- taxes and shipping.

Hope this helps.

Though the EFI may be nice starting and such I still prefer the carbed models for easeof tuning and changing filter/pipes and such without the cost of the download or race tuner for the EFI. The 04 seems priced okay I suppose for what its got but unless you want all thats been added onto it and like it starting with a clean slate to customize as you want is nice too.
I've got an 06 1200C and really like it.

You might be able to get the 2004 for less then $7500 with all the extras. That would be my pick.

Thats about what it would cost here too. The local Harley Guru charges about $600 for everything. The dealship is about twice that.

If the 04 is a private sale & in real good condition, I would go in with a $6500 offer. That leaves you $3000+ to dress it your way.

I would go for the 07 , nothing beats brand new , in a month or so when the 08's come out that o4 will then be a 4 year old bike .as far as choosing between the 06 and 07 , it is not enough difference in price that i would be swayed either way , it would depend on if i wanted a carbed model or EFI , and i would choose the EFI .

That is too much for the 06 Low, unless it has some extras. I got mine for less than that new (3 miles on it) during the model year.
