Default 2018 Iron 1200. Fairing question

I kind of love this motorcycle. One thing i really hate about it though is the fairing. Does it come off? does it look weird without it? I would love for it to have the same or similar headlight as the 883. Really cant stand the look of that fairing so how much would it be approximately to get it to look like the old version?

I have ridden the 1200 Iron on demo rides and have looked at the fairing close and I think it comes off easy and has the standard headlight with the eye brow mount.

. I have looked at mine and it looks to be a easy remove. Looks like it would look just fine without it. Mine has kinda grown on me, im hoping someone comes up with a wind screen to extend it, I think it would look better and give more wind protection.

I removed the fairing but am stuck with what to do with what’s left. There’s a weird bracket under the fairing and I’m not sure the correct way to secure it to the bike that way.

I think you should be able to replace that big cap nut with a regular 1/2-13 nut and then there is a small cover bout the size of half dollar that snaps in the hole to hide the nut.
