Default Oversized Tire

Previous owner put a 110/90-19 on the front of my '08 XL883. Cosmetically, it sticks out on both sides of the fender, for an interesting look. Just curious how it might affect handling, pro or con. I've only put on a few hundred miles so far.

Thanks!

Not too much generally. It will have a slightly different steering feel and corner handling, but in the grand scheme of things it's not too much different from the 100/90 tire. I would wear it out and replace it with whatever you like.

Should be OK as the tire width (110mm) and rim width (2.15") are likely compatible per this general reference chart, though check the tire makers specs to be sure. If this were not the case the mounted tire profile would be wrong which could cause weird and possibly dangerous handling.

I have a 110/90-19 on my bike and the front is now less harsh on uneven pavement. Then again, before that I had a shinko 100/90-19 and that was painful because it was a low profile tire.

Looks brand new as if it has been ridden on yet! Take care for a couple of hundred miles as you bed it in, check pressure and ride it for a while. Any difference in profile with the stock tyre will probably not be noticeable, unless you are very familiar with riding on them. If you find you don't like it then by all means swap it for a stock size.

Well it was nice while it lasted...

lewk (with his pics) is not the OP. Those tire pics are not new. He was just responding to another poster's request.

I don't think lewk was looking for advice.
