Default Almost Traded UP!!!

Hello everyone,
I just want to let everybody know that I almost traded in my 04
1200c for a street bob.
I love my sportster the way it feels and I don't know I just got hungry
for more power,I have been going back and forth in my head for a month
now.
Well last week I took my bike in to a good mech, and had a rejet job done and tuned ,well a stage one done,I had allready put my Vance&Hines
pipes and a high flow air kit on myself ,but wanted a good mech to do the carb. So I went to pick the bike up saturday and.........

WHAT THE HELL HAPPEND!!!! MY 1200C HAD TURNED INTO A MONSTER!!!!
I could not believe the differance, I have read alot of post on the stage
one and how it helped but I did not realize or expected that much of a difference.. Tradeing up! HELL NO!
It make's me wonder Why would Harley restrict the performance so much on there bikes(besides the EPA)
Well I'ama happy Biker.. ( should i say biker is this pc?)

Glad to hear you're staying with the family! Yes, that stage 1 upgrade makes a world of difference.

Ride safe!

If as you say, "I just got hungry for more power", you made the right choice. While the Street Bob has a little more power, stock for stock, the addition weight of the Street Bob negates the power difference unless your talking about extended high speed crusing.

I agree, Big Twin(96ci) stockis great for hauling butt down the highway, but not a "outta of the hole" monster. And my personnal preference is NOT the highway.

Have fun with the "new" bike!!!

Stage 1 does make differece in how a Sportster performs. Having had a Sportster and now having a Dyna Superglide that I got on Friday I have noticed there are big differences. Dyna is not as top heavy as the sporty, ride is alot smoother bike does not jump as much over bumps. Dyna has effortless power bike pulls without having to downshift all the time, and the 6th gear is great when you hit that it is goodbye Sportsters. Though I liked my Sportster I don't think I will miss it.

I love my new Street Glide but if I could have afforded it I would have kept my 1200c just for the pure fun of riding it. The SEII pipes, Air and PCIII tuner really bring these bikes alive.

I went by the dealership yesterday and there were a couple of people oogling it. Since the sales guy is a friend I actually spent a few minutes descrbing what I had done to the bike. It's only been there a couple of days and he thinks he has it sold already.

I can't remember how many times I wanted to trade in my 1200 for a Street Glide, when I look at my 1200, I ask myself a question, do I really need a SG? My Sportster looks the way I like and pretty happy with it. I will keep it for a while, sure one day SG or RK will be my second bike.
Celtlion, nice Glide you have, it looks really hot.
