Default Rocker head gasket replacement cost?

How much should it cost for a shop to replace my leaking gasket? One shop said it would cost $475+ and is a full day job. 😩

They are nuts. I can do it in 2 and a half hours or so and I'm an old man.

Dont have the time, experience, or garage to do it in. I’m going to look around and see if I can find someone that can do it for a more reasonable price. Although I wish I had the time, experience, and place to do it in.

Well every ones got to start some where. I once read why pay some one a lot of money to screw up your ride when you can screw it you your self for a lot less money. Made sense and I have never looked back. I once rebuilt a Pan Head in my back yard. I had no garage and it needed to be done. If I was close to you I would do it for free. Maybe you can find some one who lives close to you that can give you a hand. Good luck.

I just did my rear cylinder and it was stupid easy. Watch some you tube videos and make sure you get a rocker box wrench and cosmetic gaskets.

Standard shop time for both is about 2 hours. Plus some parts you'd look at maybe $250+tax @ $100/hr labor. Being in Brooklyn it wouldn't surprise me if labor rates are even higher than that.
