New on HD and in US
Hi, I am a frenchie just arriving in Boston MA.
I used to ride on race bikes everywhere on european racetrack and I have bought a sportster xl883c 2001 converted in Cafe racer... so a big change for me from the japanese and italian racers.
I am looking for new parts to finish the conversion to cafe racer but I have lot of difficulties to find the parts. It is easy to find on 883 after 2004 or for the non custom version but hard on xl883C 2001 :'(
I have to discover everything about HD and customs so I think this is a good place to.

Try research of "Storz Performance" on the net.
FWIW My best advice to a new rider in the USA... all USA drivers of cars are trying to kill you.
There is so much inattention and lack of skills in this county when it regards to driving.
So far your XL appears as a good café racer as is....rear sets, clip on, ground clearance, et al
,
Good luck find your additional parts.

Furydain, bonjour mon ami and welcome to HDF, from the UK!
We Europeans invented the cafe racer and have a different take on what one should be. I look forward to Furydain's finished project. Here's a French one I particularly like:
