Is it save to test ride new pipes before re-jetting?
Hi Everyone,
I recently bought a set of Vance & Hines Big Radius pipes for my 2004 Sportster XL883C which already has a screaming eagle intake. ( Not sure how much extra air the intake is really giving because it looks identical to what came stock on the bike, but I didn't waste my money on it so...) I know that i will need the bike re-jetted, which I already made an appointment for, but it is a week out and I really want to test ride the bike with the new pipes. My question being, is there a possibility of damaging my engine because it will run lean with the new system, or should I be all set to ride it as long as I'm easy on it?
