Rev Limiter

If you hang around the forum for any length of time, you will realize that there is a lot of knowledge here. if there was a mod that involved just switching one wire to gain power without destroying the engine, these folks would have been all over it a long time ago. I think your friend might be blowing smoke up your rear end or you are misunderstanding the mod that he performed

A 2001 doesn't have a Rev limiter. Thus it will Rev higher and make more power. BUT I run the risk of blowing the heads. So if you do unplug either the lower or higher stage of the limiter on a newer bike you could cause similar damage.
I think we all understand the risks.

I don't think this guy understands you can't simply unplug something to change the rev limiter. And older sportsters do have rev limiter. They can be changed with a chip. And just because it revs higher doesn't mean it makes more power. It just means you're wasting time revving the motor instead of shifting while still in the powerband and accelerating quicker.
